Great accomplishments come from hard work. Luck accompanies hard work. If necessary, be prepared to endure temporary hardship. At times, the work is going to be hard to do and you would prefer doing something easier. Accept this. Put enthusiasm into your work and you will reduce boredom. Commit yourself to hard work and be thankful that you aren’t lazy. Laziness makes all work difficult.
From day one, you accept the premise that by following the Action Principles®, you will work hard and give much. Don’t cheat, or look for the easy way out. Bask in the feeling of exhilaration and accomplishment that few will experience. If you work hard, you will never go hungry. In the end, you will discover that all the hard work was worth it. Work hard and don’t wish that your life were any other way. Get accustomed to doing what others can’t or won’t.
You know and accept the value of hard work. Because you are goal-oriented, you don’t need a lot of motivating. You want to work at work. Many people don’t work very hard at work. Some people are productive only half of the time. The rest of the time they are engaged in non-business activities.
Almost all jobs have tedious or arduous aspects to them and it’s human nature to avoid these more difficult jobs, even though these are the tasks which may be the most productive for the company.
The salesperson doesn’t want to take the extra time to explain the extended warranty. The auto mechanic is too busy to follow-up and check if his customers from last week are satisfied. The real estate agent doesn’t want to show a house on a Sunday night. What others avoid can become your opportunity to profit. Over time, this willing to work harder and attend to details can make a big difference in your career advancement and ultimate success.
Appreciate that some may praise your hard work while some, especially less ambitious co-workers, may resent your willingness to do more than is required or expected. You have accepted hard work.
